内容説明
This comprehensive textbook, designed for students of A level law, covers most subjects commonly included in A level syllabuses across the UK. The book is divided into five parts, covering each of the main areas of the law: the English legal system; criminal law; contract law; statutory encroachments upon freedom to contract; and the law of tort. Each of these parts provides a clear treatment of a wide range of topics within its particular areas. Carefully chosen diagrams are provided at the end of most chapters to help the student draw toegther the underlying principles, and show the order in which issues must be addressed. These diagrams should prove to be useful revision aids which students can use to refresh their memories on the main legal points in each topic. This second edition incorporates many recent legislative developments affecting civil procedure, sentencing, police powers, property offences, unlawful homicide and harrassment. New cases include "R v Ireland" (on assault), "Hunter v Canary Wharf Ltd" (on the tort of nuisance) and "Capital & Counties Ltd v Hampshire County Council" (on the duty of care in tort.
