内容説明

This work provides an analytical framework of the way culture influences economic performance in a semi-industrial society. Culture provides rules and norms which govern societal behaviour yet it differs in the way it influences economic performance across societies. The book argues particularly that entrepreneurial investment patterns in northern Nigeria are influenced by indigenous forms of rationality. The final conclusion is that when developing societies are penetrated by capitalism, it is the indigenous values which determine the social formations of production. The book should be of value to students and scholars looking at economic performance and business organizations cross-culturally and offers an African perspective.
