This comprehensive guide helps examiners who use the Woodcock-Johnson Psycho-Educational Battery Revised in school settings to translate these test results into meaningful information for programme development. The guide is organized into several chapters. The first chapter presents a brief overview of the diagnostic/prescriptive process. The second describes the Woodcock-Johnson Revised (WJ-R) tests and clusters and the wide range of interpretative information available. Subsequent chapters directly address performance in the four curricular areas assessed by the WJ-R Tests of Achievement - reading, written language, knowledge, and mathematics. Each chapter presents information on test content, procedures for error analysis, additional informal assessment, modifications and compensatory strategies, and several research-supported instructional methods. The last chapter addresses the relationship between the WJ-R Tests of Cognitive Ability and the Tests of Achievement. Relevant research is presented, and specific modifications are suggested for students with low performance in a cognitive area. With careful analysis of a student's WJ-R performance, an examiner can gain important insights into both cognitive and academic strengths and weaknesses.
