Note

ACSAA Color Slide Project, University of Michigan, director: Walter Spink

"Sculpture, primarily Buddhist, from Thailand, as well as from Cambodia, Gandhara, Burma and Laos. The important Griswold bequest was exhibited at the Walters in the summer of 1995. The set will complement Hiram W. Woodward, Jr.'s catalogue, The Sacred Sculpture of Thailand, to appear in 1997. Contents include Buddhist and Hindu sculptures in stone, tin, bronze and brass dating from the 2nd century AD through the 18th century, and other figural sculptures and ritual objects in a variety of media, including terracotta, bronze, pewter and stoneware."
