内容説明
Volume 2 in the series Environmental Damage and Control in Canada, sponsored by the Canadian Society of Zoologists, offers guidelines of especial interest to teachers, citizens' groups, businessmen, physicians, and engineers. Dr. David V. Bates spells out the present and long-range dangers from various sources of air pollution, including gaseous emissions, metallic and organic compounds, particulate pollution, and SST aircraft. In a summary of anti-pollution legislation in Canada, Great Britain, and the United States, he cites evidence of improvements that have already been achieved, and he concludes that it would be less expensive to prevent hazards than to continue current expenditures required to alleviate the effects of the air pollutants already present in our cities on human health and materials.
