Widening participation and inclusive learning have become buzz words for change in continuing education. How can these recent developments be related to equal opportunities and adults with learning difficulties? Based on NIACE research sponsored by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, All Things Being Equal? Looks at individuals and groups of adults with learning difficulties who have tended to miss out on continuing education, ranging from older adults to those with profound and multiple learning difficulties. All Things Being equal? Gives case studies of succesful practice drawn from fieldwork visits to colleges and local education authorities, exploring the issues and challenges of widening participation. The book offers useful blueprints for building new provision via checklists of ideas, all based on practical experience. It gives resource suggestions for busy managers and practitioners working in colleges and local education authorities. There is an emphasis on partnership work in the examples given, making the book also relevant for staff from other organisations. The voices of learners are quoted throughout the book.
