This text contains concise overviews of progress in the rapidly advancing field of immunology. The overviews, over 30 in number, have all been carefully prepared and illustrated (often in full colour) by the world's leading immunologists, and are based on results presented at the Xth International Congress of Immunology, held in November 1998 in New Delhi. The Congress attracted more than 4000 participants, and this book provides informed discussions and comments on the most important advances in immunology that were discussed and presented at the Congress.
