Advanced powder metallurgy (PM) processes are at the edge of materials engineering through their ability to produce components having superior physical and mechanical properties, stiffness, low density, and higher temperature capabilities. The range of advanced materials is continually being expanded through the development of new powder production processes, for example to produce ultrafine and nanocrystalline powders.
