内容説明

The collection of Spanish pottery and tiles in the Victoria and Albert Museum is one of the most important outside Spain, and although the finest pieces, especially of lustreware, are well known, much of it will be unfamiliar even to specialists. Spanish Pottery 1248-1898 is a catalogue of the collection bringing together objects (or fragments of objects) made over seven centuries and illustrating them with over 1000 black and white and 261 colour illustrations. At the same time it is conceived as a general history of Spanish pottery during this period, and comparative pieces from other collections have therefore been included to give a more complete picture. It is the first book in English to present an overall view of the subject and the fist to present Spanish pottery in a historical rather than a regional context.
