Description and Table of Contents
Description
Industry must provide internal combustion engines that produce minimal pollutant emmissions and give excellent part-load fuel economy, while maintaining or improving full-load specific engine performance. This text presents the results of a seminar on the subject.
Table of Contents
- The use of multiple poppet valves in reciprocating internal combustion engines, R. Pearson, J. Martin and I. Postlewaite
- multi-valve cylinder heads of uniflow scavenged two-stroke engines and their effect on naturally aspirated and turbocharged performance, F.J. Wallace
- ranking the flow capacity for the design of multi-valve schemes, W.A. Woods and A.M. Woods
- modelling of transient flows in a four-valve pent-roof type engine with late intake valve closure, A.Y. Bokhary and R.J. Saunders
- investigations of inlet port design on engine swirl using orthogonal array experimentation computational fluid dynamics, A. Brignall and Z.M. Jin
- the importance of manufacturing tolerances on inlet port performance, B.M.Train
- effects of the variation of valve lift, duration, and phasing on the emissions and fuel economy of a multi-cylinder, four-valve SI engine, A Ghuari, S.H. Richardson and C.J.E. Nightingale
- the analysis of an engine with a variable valve train, A. Frommhelt, et al.
