This book is a comprehensive introduction to VM/CMS (Virtual Machine/Conversational Monitor System) which is a general purpose operating system developed by IBM to run on computers ranging from minicomputers such as the IBM 9370, to supercomputers such as the IBM 3090. These machines, under VM/CMS, are used for a variety of applications such as statistics, text editing, text processing, communications, and the computational sciences.
