Description

A short manual describing, in step-by-step form, orbital and lacrimal (tear duct) surgery. Aimed at those unfamiliar with the techniques, the book describes the commonly performed operations as well as the basic clinical assessment of patients with orbital or lacrimal disease. The book should be of use to trainees in ophthalmology who need to understand the procedures but may find it difficult to observe them, and to ophthalmologists who are happy to attempt basic orbital surgery. Also of interest for the specialist orbital surgeon who may wish to refer to the distilled methods of another surgeon. This text is not intended as a guide to all areas of orbital surgery, or to the management of complex orbital diseases. The emphasis is on those operations which might be considered within the realm of the ophthalmologist.
