Description

This critical biography of the modern poet and writer Ezra Pound is based both on published personal accounts and interviews with people who knew Pound and many unpublished letters, psychiatric reports and FBI files. Ezra Pound is considered to be a controversial writer with some extreme views and a poet with enormous ambition, self-confidence and pride and a prophetic sense of message and mission. He detested the prospect of his own biography and this is intended to be a balanced and interpretive study which illuminates the tragic circumstances surrounding Pound's poems. It explores the myths behind the man and the different attitudes towards him of those who knew him. By the same author: "Naked Angels - Lives and Literature of the Beat Generation" and "The American Experience - A Radical Reader".
