Description
This proceedings presents the latest information in the design, installation, and performance of deep foundations. Special emphasis is placed on both post-grouted drilled shafts and on augered, cast-in-place (ACIP) piles. Topics relating to screwed and driven foundations are also included. Major areas addressed are high-capacity piles on rock; design, installation, and performance of helical piles; post grouting of drilled shafts; lateral load considerations for drilled and ACIP piles; resistance factors for driven piles; pile load test databases; neural networks and pile design; remediation techniques using piles; numerical analyses of drilled shafts and ACIP piles; comparison of pile and probe tests; prediction of pile set-up; nondestructive testing of drilled shafts; p-y curves in partially saturated soils; design and testing of ACIP piles; and quality control measures for ACIP piles and properties of auger grout.
