Description

This sixteen-volume set brings together editions of William Whewell's (1794-1886) major writings. It contains two of most well-known works by this British philosopher and historian of science, the "History of the Inductive Sciences" and "The Philosophy of the Inductive Sciences". These books established Whewell as one of the leading philosophers of science. The set contains writings on many subjects including scientific research, physics, mathematics, ethics, law, university education, natural theology, church architecture, political economy and the history and philosophy of science.
