This work is a compilation of professional literature related to mental health occupational therapy. The contents cover a broad range of psychosocial issues, practice models, intervention programmes and health care trends. It is divided into six sections: sociopolitical issues and policies influencing mental health practice; strategies for programme development, management and evaluation; the practice of occupational therapy across the mental health continuum of care; humanistic and holistic approaches in occupational therapy practice; familial and social supports; and professional development. The aim of the book is to uncover the importance of psychosocial practice in occupational therapy.
