内容説明
The failure to deliver a fault-free infrastructure can have a major impact upon service delivery and effect the business plans and passenger perception of franchise. Reducing infrastructure faults is essential in delivering the passenger or commodity from A-B on time with respect to improving safety, reliability, and quality. This text focuses, explores and discusses how the infrastructures of railway systems in the UK and internationally endeavour to become or remain fault-free. This selection of papers presented in this volume are grouped into five sections. These are: towards a fault-free infrastructure; performance and its role in the efficient infrastructure; reliability - above and below; staying on track; trains on track - their role in the performance matrix. This book covers the key issues and highlights the developments and challenges that await the profession in this initial high-cost sector of the rail industry.
目次
- Towards a fault-free infrastructure: a systemic approach to fault-free infrastructure. It is all about performance and its role in the efficient infrastructure: the importance of condition monitoring in providing fault-free infrastructure
- self-monitoring and reporting telephones as part of a fault-free railway
- a new high-performance switch actuation system for a high-reliability railway stainless steel - an innovative answer
- paying the price - is performance contracting the answer? Reliability above and below: high-reliability electrification equipment
- control of earth leakage currents and track potentials on a.c. and d.c. electrified railway for a fault-free infrastructure
- fault-free infrastructure - escalator maintenance. staying on track: the development of an equitable cost attribution model for track deterioration towards a fault-free permanent way for MTR
- assessing railway vehicle derailment potential using neural networks. trains on track - their role in the performance matrix: implementing a train protection and warning system
- harmonising tilting trains with the infrastructure
- maintenance depots - can they ever be fault-free infrastructure?
