Description
This joint publication is a contribution to the activities of the International Labour Office and the Asian Productivity Organization in promoting effective and social-oriented development, competitive enterprises and entrepreneurship. Productivity and quality are two of the most important contributing factors for economic and social development, and are important instruments for an equitable deistrbution of wealth, sound industrial relations and workers' democratic participation. Over the years, the ILO and APO have been assisting their member countries to promote productivity and quality improvement through management and enterprise development projects and programmes, as well as consultancy and advisory services. The programme consists of 23 modules and a guide on how to use them. Part One provides the latest concepts, factors and barriers in productivity and quality improvement, techniques on how to assess problems and measure poductivity, as well as the productivity improvement cycle and major techniques for mastering its elements. Part Two discusses the most important productivity and quality improvement areas, where to look for hidden reserves, and how to tap them.
This programme is for enterprise managers, productivity and quality specialists and consultants, management training and development professionals, project managers, officials from government agencies, and employers' and workers' organizations.
