Description
This four-volume set aims to provide an insight into the principles and practical uses of a large collection of bioinformatics tools and specialized databases available on Australian National Genomic Information Service (ANGIS). It aims to demystify many aspects of sequence analysis programs and allow ANGIS users to make more informed decisions about which software to use, how to use it and interpret its output. Specialized databases typically use thier own in-build interface to provide access to their contents, occasionally augmented by specialized tools for analysis. This volume concentrates on three of these specialized databases: the RDP database of pre-aligned ribosomal RNA sequences, together with the AE2 multiple sequence editor; the GDB human genome database; and the ACeDB database model.
