Description

The focus of this book is to present some of the latest aspects in the area of mobility and its relation to planning of an optimal traffic safety. The book demonstrates the necessity of integrating knowledge from various disciplines in order to achieve a suited prevention program to reduce traffic injuries. It thus cuts the barriers between the different disciplines in their joint aim to reduce traffic injuries. Scientists, clinicians and administrators from various disciplines present different methods and results such as economic issues of developing and industrialized countries, responsibility and accountability of governments, an overview of the World Bank's experience in road safety and the role of communication together with future integration of knowledge. The book gives a broad and deep overview of the strategies that have to be adopted to avoid the rapid increase in road traffic injuries.
