内容説明

This CD-ROM proceedings, incorporating direct Internet access, provides an introduction to the wealth of medical material available on the Web, acts as an entry point to these resources and, in addition, structures information for those with specific interests. Until recently, computers were seen as devices constructed for the explicit purpose of processing and manipulating data. We are currently experiencing a paradigm shift in the way we use this kind of technology. The trend is away from using computers as calculation engines towards a culture where computation serves as a communication and simulation medium. In a medical context, the Internet has revolutionised the sharing of ideas and information between clinicians, researchers, academics and professional groups.
