Mark Perlman was the founding editor of the Journal of Economic Literature and responsible for issues from 1969 until 1980 when he retired. He has also written and edited a number of books and articles, concentrating on aspects of the labour market, population growth, health economics, the environment and the history of economics. His extraordinarily significant contribution to economics has been recognized by Economists worldwide and in 2000 the History of Economics Society made him their Distinguished Fellow.
In this volume, eighteen scholars have contributed chapters exploring themes such as an evaluation of Mark Perlman's written contributions, the history of economic theory and applied economics.
