Description
This introductory volume proposes and justifies a phytogeographic division of Central Asia. The regions covered are: Altai, Khangai, Kentei Ranges in the north, Greater Khingan Range in the east, Pamir in the west, the Great Wall of China in the south-east and the Himalayas in the south. A taxonomic treatment of ferns occurring in this territory, as well as bibliographic material on the flora and vegetation of Central Asia are presented.
