内容説明
The objective of this bulletin is to summarize British experience of alternative silvicultural systems to clear-cutting. Management of woodlands for diverse objectives such as recreaton, landscape, timber production and conservation is becoming increasingly important. Irregular forestry systems have been promoted as one way of maximizing the potential benefits woodlands have to offer. The study explores this assumption and highlights the lessons which have been learnt in managing irregular forestry, and in converting high forest managed by clear-cutting to other systems.
