内容説明

There are two skills or competencies that appear almost without fail in every organization's 'wish-list' for the next decade: the ability to work well within a team and the ability to learn. But what if the two concepts are effectively synonymous? Howard Hills' Team-Based Learning shows how the ability to learn lies at the heart of effective working in teams. His book identifies the ingredients that turn good teams into teams that improve. These ingredients include established models of learning, of individual personality and of organizational culture, as well as some models of his own. He provides a picture of what team-based learning looks like and explains how our understanding of the ways in which individuals learn; how teams form, build and develop; and how the effect of personality on both processes can provide us with the raw materials for managing the process. Team-Based Learning includes the tools for managing the process, the skills of learning and communicating within the team. It also provides a strategy for everyone involved in the process: c the team leader, whose behaviour has such a great influence on team culture and performance; c the team member, who needs to understand how he/she can affect the process and needs the motivation to become involved; and c the training department, who need to create a climate in which team-based learning can flourish. Howard Hills has written a convincing and authoritative book that will help trainers and line-managers understand the process of team-based learning; view it in the context of team roles, personality types and organizational culture; and move it from their 'wish-list' to their 'to-do' list.
