Description
Stephan Balkenhol creates wooden sculptures of female, male and animal figures, interpreting man's dominant position in the universe. His images combine everyday immediacy with a rationality typical of the minimalist tradition. The ingenuity of his work lies in his multifaceted approach and his ability to combine many different contemporary art trends. This seam of ideas and techniques is in evidence in this volume.
