本書は、論語集註を書き下し文にし、その趣意のあるところを聊か考察したものである。その際、すぐれた朱子学者・浅見絅斎の講義を克明に筆記した「論語師説」（写本）によって、論語の本文と集註との精しい意味を知り得る益が大きく、また、稀覯本であるので、その説を多く引用している。
