Because six of every seven children and adolescents with cancer can now be cured, the quality of life during and after treatment is displacing cure as the paramount objective. With this shift in emphasis, attention to supportive care in paediatric cancer therapy has become as important as surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. In this book, the discipline of supportive care in paediatric oncology is covered in depth. This ready-reference handbook is designed for use at the hospital bedside, in the oncology outpatient clinic or in the physician's office. Five new chapters have been added to this edition, and significant revisions have been made in each of the others.
