Description and Table of Contents
Description
This volume brings together three projects by Joan Fontcuberta, projects that partake of a critical practice of photography within the context of contemporary art. In "Constellations", "Haemograms" and "Semiopolis" paradox, ambiguity, trompe-l'oeil and the investigation of the photographic trace form the common nexus. As in the successive episodes of the cult TV series "The Twilight Zone", these images beat a path towards hidden but ever-present worlds. Behind dramatic celestial landscapes, urban utopias glimpsed in science fiction, or abstract and minimalist smears of blood, another reality emerges, ironically enough. Unveiling their enigmas is tantamount to plunging us into a disturbing poetry. The texts are written by Marti Peran, Jorge Wagensberg and Anatxu Zabalbeascoa, and a Spanish language version of this volume is available (ISBN 84-95273-23-3).
