Drug abuse is one of the most important social issues of our time. Drugs have the power to undermine international relations, disrupt financial systems, and corrupt governments. Despite drugs being one of the international communities' most important contemporary concerns, information on illicit drug use and supply is obscured by its very illegality. This report presents research on and describes the global illicit drug situation. The report contains data from all major regions of the world and highlights important trends in the production, manufacture and consumption of illicit drugs, and the role of the local community, national governments, and the international community in combating this global problem.
