Description

In 1835, long before the Internet, the fax, or even the telephone, Agence France-Presse was founded to communicate the important news of the day around the world. Today, the archives of this legendary news service contain photographs of every major occurrence in every country of the globe. For this new book, some 400 pictures were carefully chosen to document the epochal - and everyday - events and issues of the past 15 years. Spotlighting moments of crisis and of celebration, and celebrating the daily rituals and happenings of our diverse world - religious practices, political events, scientific break-throughs, the financial world, sports, art, theater, fashion, and much more - these photographs, taken by many of the most honored news photographers, offer an incomparable picture of life on Earth at this point in time.
