"Many Globalizations" provides snapshots of cultural dynamics in ten nations around the world: China, Taiwan, India, Germany, Hungary, South Africa, Chile, Turkey, and the US. The book poses the following questions: How will culture respond to the forces of globalization? Will local practices resist the advances in technology and organization that are giving rise to the globalization of production, and if so, how? In comparison to other books on globalization, "Many Globalizations" is distinctive in its non-polemical, empirical approach and its focus on culture, instead of economics and politics.
