Description

This publication accompanies a major retrospective of the work of Lucien Freud at the Tate Britain. Freud was born in 1922 and the exhibition spans his career, featuring both past and present artworks. Produced in collaboration with the artist and richly illustrated with photographs from his personal archives, the book contains a detailed analysis of Freud's work and notes on the included images. An afterword by the painter Frank Auerbach, and also friend of Freud, provides a personal insight into his career.
