Description
The God of Nietzsche's 'God is Dead' is not the God of faith but one of our limited preoccupations. James Byrne argues forcefully that the inability of humanity to share a language and praxis about God stems from the nature of divinity and is one of the key strengths of religion. Belief in God is a reasonable response to the nature of our existence which integrates and makes us whole. In conclusion he argues that taking God seriously means taking our own talk about God less seriously and in good humour.
