内容説明
The Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS), the third generation mobile system, is coming into use in Japan and Europe. The main benefits - spectrum-efficient radio interfaces offering high capacity, large bandwidths, the ability to interconnect with IP-based networks, and flexibility of mixed services with variable data - offer exciting prospects for the deployment of these networks. This work addresses several issues, emphasizing future evolution to improve performance for the fourth generation, and outlines key topics in this area of enormous innovation and commercial investment.
