内容説明
The philosophy of religion is as old as philosophy itself and the second half of the Twentieth Century in particular saw a considerable growth of interest in this area. The texts reprinted here demonstrate many of the issues encompased by this field. Amongst them is Philosophy and Religion by Axel Hagerstroem, who found fame with his anti-metaphysical and emotivist positions during the years 1905-1939. His philosophy had a profound effect on Swedish thought and the publication of his work in the Muirhead Library in 1964 helped to bring his powerful discussions to a wider audience. The essays offered in this volume are among Hagerstroem's most important writings. Also included is C. A. Campbell's On Selfhood and Godhood, a work drawn from the Gifford Lectures, arguably the most prestigious lectures in religion, as delivered between 1953-55.
