Description
This study traces the economic history of the Muslims from the fall of the Mughal Empire to Independence. It shows how, with the coming of the British, a new economic structure emerged in the Indian subcontinent under which the Muslims lost not only their political power but also their economic standing, and how fear of continued economic deprivation fuelled the demand for the creation of Pakistan.
