Description
This set explores questions of moral philosophy and reprints the epic, Ethics, by eminent German Philosopher Nicolai Hartmann. This influential work is arguably Hartmann's most enduring contribution to philosophy and comprises both a general theory of value and a revival of previously neglected Aristotelean methods. This reissue will follow the original arrangement in three parts: Volume One provides a history of normative ethics and ethical theory; the phenomenology of virtues in Volume two is often seen as a masterpiece in its own right and the final volume attempts to tackle the problem of freedom. Also included in this set is Brand Blanshard's Reason and Goodness which presents a thorough critique of relativism in ethics.
