Description
This volume contains the proceedings of the 10th Japan-Korea Symposium on Diabetes Mellitus, held every two years, this time in Japan during October 1999. The aim of this symposium was to present and discuss recent progress, and to achieve further advances in the field of diabetes mellitus. The symposium consisted of five lectures on results of UKPDS, epidemiology and complications of diabetes mellitus, molecular mechanisms of insulin action and insulin secretion, two symposia about pathogenesis and treatment of diabetes mellitus and seventeen free communication sessions covering all the fields of diabetes mellitus. This volume reflects the most up-to-date knowledge in this important area.
