Description
This historical atlas covers the area from Poland, Lithuania and the eastern part of Germany to Greece and western Turkey - the geographical centre of the European continent - and extends in time from the early 5th century to the present day. This new edition incorporates the seismic political changes wrought since the revolutions of 1989. The final third of the volume has been completely rethought and redesigned: it features 21 new maps, 41 revised maps, 11 new chapters, and new statistical material covering 20th-century population changes, ethno-linguistic distribution, education, and Catholic and Orthodox churches. The bibliography has been similarly updated and expanded.
