Description and Table of Contents
Description
The main reason for this publication is to address the growing demand from governments, business, and analysts, for more relevant, detailed, and internationally comparable statistics on trade. With special emphasis given to the statistical information needs of international trade negotiations and agreements, it provides a coherent conceptual framework within which countries can structure the statistics they collect and disseminate on international services trade and recommends means of making the data more efficient. The Manual describes the four modes through which international services are traded and takes a broader and more detailed view of international trade in services as opposed to the more conventional balance of payments analysis. The best approaches to implement the recommendations proposed are also included in the manual.
