Description

Poland is a country where official information is still hard to fathom and independent travel can often be difficult. Featuring a series of accurate maps, some of which are not available in Poland itself, this travel companion attempts to smooth out some of the problems encountered by travellers to Eastern Europe. In addition to details of accommodation, dining, transport and red tape, the guide fills in political, historical and cultural background. Poland's rapidly changing political situation is reflected throughout the book. The authors enlisted the aid of American Peace Corps Volunteers in the making of this guide, which resulted in new sections of text that describe regions of the country and neglected ethnic minorities.
