内容説明

Anselm Kiefer's work is characterized by its emotional investigations into Germany's historical past. For years, he has probed both the myths and events that have shaped German history and has offered thought-provoking insights into their relationship and significance through his paintings and artist's books. In this text, Rafael Lopez-Pedraza draws on his experience and knowledge as a trained psychologist to present a new reading of Kiefer's work. He addresses the central issues of myth and history in the artist's work through the perspective of Jung's writings, in particular Jung's essay "After the Catastrophe". Unfolding the nature of Kiefer's comlex creativity, the author demonstrates how depth psychology can help us to better understand Kiefer's art and ideas. He uses a variety of images from Kiefer's career to illustrate his argument, providing an overview of Kiefer's entire creative expression.
