Description and Table of Contents
Description
This is a review and analysis of theoretical and applied developments available in acculturation research. It includes theory data relevant to the four major ethnic minority groups: African Americans, Asian Americans, American Indians and Hispanics/Latinos. It specifically looks at contemporary developments in the theoretical analysis of acculturation as a culture-learning process - its relationship with other constructs (such as ethnic identification) and with cultural values and mores. Also, developments in measuring acculturation and its application to understanding changes in family relations, health status, addictions and mental health are included, making this volume useful for those working with ethnic minority groups and to those researchers working in the field.
