Description
"Historical Cultures and Geography, 1600-1750" is the first set in a major new programme by Thoemmes Press, "Texts in the History of Geographical Thought". This eight-volume set features three classic geographical texts which explore geography's interconnection with history and the importance of historians understanding geographical facts as being crucial to their enquiries, or seeing geography as the "eye" of history. As examples of the early modern twinning of geography and history the collection is vital to an understanding of the culture of historical and geographical writing since the Renaissance up until the mid-18th century. Illustrated with collectable maps and introductions on each work by Robert Mayhew, these texts are also available as individual titles.
