The Homelessness Act 2002, which was in part brought into force on 31 July 2002 (England) and 30 September 2002 (Wales), brings much needed change to the law relating to homelessness and allocations. It affords greater protection to people who become homeless through no fault of their own and places a duty on local authorities to develop long term stratefgies for dealing with homelessness. Jan Luba and Liz Davies provide a clear explanation of the provision of the Act and the related statutory and other materials. This new edition has been revised to take account of the Homelessness Code of Guidance for Local Authorities and the Priority Needs Order for England, both of which are included in full.
