Description
The 1594 Quarto of Titus Andronicus is the rarest of of Shakespeare quartos. It was discovered in Sweden in 1902. This unique copy now resides in the Folger Shakespeare Library. It was last edited in a single-volume facsimile in 1936. Without the quarto we would be reliant on the second quarto of 1600, printed from the first quarto, except for sections of Act V, scene iii, where the text of the Q1 copy was damaged and the missing lines were 'supplied' by compositorial guesswork and compositorial creativity.
