Description
This book deals with corporate reorganisation in the European transport and logistic industry. Major structural shifts such as the globalization of markets, technological innovations and changes in the overall demand structure have unleashed tremendous reoganisation efforts best described by three buzzwords: diversification, internationalisation and integration. Next to a general introduction into the issue of corporate reorganisation the book provides a total of 12 in-depth company reorganisation profiles ncompassing European freight forwarders, cargo railways and postal organizations. In its concluding remarks the book compares the different reorganisation patterns and provides an outlook on the "finalists" in an industry that will see a further concentration process in the next decade.
