A practical guide to the provisions of the Enterprise Act 2002, which makes substantial changes to the UK competition law regime. Issues covered include reform of merger control provisions; cartel criminalization; making provision for market investigations in place of the scale and complex monopoly provisions of the Fair Trading Act and new procedures for civil remedies and "super complaints". Consequential amendments are also made to the Competition Act 1998, and there are changes to the institutional arrangements, appeals and civil rights as well, all of which are explored here. The relevant text of the Act - both sections and schedules - is included.
