Description and Table of Contents
Description
This book addresses the resettlement of populations displaced by internal political violence who have relocated to sites within their home country. On the basis of a survey in two study sites in Uganda's Luwero District carried out in 1993-1994, it describes and analyses the degree of success of the resettled population in rehabilitating its standard of living and community life. This book is a contribution to the limited body of empirical research available on the rehabilitation of internally displaced refugees (as opposed to refugees crossing international boundaries). The findings and recommendations are, of interest, to all governments and NGOs tackling the problems associated with refugee resettlement far beyond Uganda.
